Autobiographical Narrative
Hello, and welcome!
This ePortfolio represents an important milestone in my journey through the Master of Science in Learning Design and Technology program at the University of South Florida, where I am pursuing a concentration in eLearning Design and Development. As I look back on this experience, I can clearly see how much my thinking has evolved, especially in my understanding of instructional design, educational technology, and learning theories, and how these elements come together to create meaningful, engaging, learner-centered experiences.
My learning journey has been shaped by a deep interest in learning design and technology and a commitment to supporting student success in higher education. Before this program, I completed a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Data Analytics. That experience helped me build a solid foundation in problem-solving, data-informed decision-making, and leadership. Over time, I realized I wanted to work more directly with learning and development, which led me to pursue this degree in Learning Design and Technology. It felt like a natural next step, allowing me to combine my analytical background with my passion for education and technology.
Professionally, my role as a Customer Experience Coordinator at the University of South Florida has been one of the most meaningful parts of my journey. I have had the opportunity to work closely with students from many different cultural, educational, and linguistic backgrounds. Helping them navigate admissions and key academic processes has given me a real understanding of the challenges students face. It also made me even more interested in how thoughtful instructional design and educational technology can make learning experiences more accessible and supportive.
Throughout the program, I learned not only through readings and lectures but also through hands-on projects and real-world design work. Courses in instructional design, learning theory, educational technology, multimedia development, and assessment pushed me to think differently about how learning experiences are created. I gained practical skills in analyzing learner needs, designing instruction, developing eLearning materials, integrating technology, and evaluating learning outcomes.
Some of the most valuable moments for me came from applying what I learned to real-world projects. These experiences helped me bridge the gap between theory and practice. I learned how important it is to truly understand learners, design with intention, and use research-based strategies to guide every decision in the design process.
Looking back, this program has had a real impact on both my professional growth and my future direction. It has deepened my understanding of instructional design theories and models, while also giving me confidence in using educational technologies and design tools. More importantly, it has helped me grow into a designer who is more intentional, more reflective, and more focused on creating learning experiences that are accessible, engaging, and meaningful.

My Learning Design Philosophy
I believe effective learning experiences should be learner-centered, engaging, accessible, and aligned with meaningful learning outcomes. Learning is most effective when learners actively participate in the learning process, connect new knowledge to prior experiences, and apply what they have learned in authentic contexts.
My instructional design approach is informed by learning theories such as Constructivism and Cognitive Learning Theory, as well as frameworks including Keller's ARCS Model of Motivation and the ADDIE model. These theories guide my efforts to design instruction that promotes engagement, supports diverse learners, and fosters meaningful learning experiences.
As a learning designer, I strive to combine sound pedagogical principles with innovative technology to create effective, inclusive, and impactful learning solutions.
My Vision
My vision is to leverage instructional design and educational technology to create innovative learning solutions that empower individuals to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. I am particularly passionate about designing learning experiences that are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of diverse learner populations.
As I continue my professional journey, I hope to combine my experience in higher education with my expertise in learning design and technology to contribute to instructional design, learning and development, and educational technology initiatives. I am committed to lifelong learning and continuous professional growth, and I aspire to create educational experiences that positively impact learners while supporting organizational and educational goals.
Through this program, I have also developed a growing interest in the ethical integration of artificial intelligence, digital literacy, and learner support in higher education. These emerging areas have inspired me to explore how technology can enhance learning while promoting responsible, inclusive, and learner-centered practices. As educational technologies continue to evolve, I hope to contribute to the development of innovative learning solutions that enhance learning outcomes and support meaningful educational experiences. I am particularly interested in exploring how AI can be used to support learning while maintaining academic integrity and fostering critical thinking skills.
